Passing Judgment

I have been reading some blogs lately and have been thinking to myself, how would I feel if comments of opposition were left for me? comments of hatred in a threatening manner, now I don't necessarily agree with most of what I read but then I remembered that there is only one that I 100% agree with, the Bible.

A study that I have been working through is Romans 14, this chapter is one the most humbling and loving things I have ever read. One part however kept me thinking.

Romans 14:10-13
"You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. It is written:
" 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' " So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way."

I see my own brothers and sisters and friends and neighbors and enemies passing unrighteous judgment on one another and quite frankly it pisses me off, now this may seem to you that this is a feeling of outward anger, and it may be, but I would implore anyone who would pass judgment to do it in a righteous manner, we are all one body and are going to be judged in His own time.

When you think about someone and don't agree remember Love, and when you speak out against your neighbor you speak out against yourself.

1 Corinthians 13

Love

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I love you and like our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I forgive you.

Moses!!! I love what you wrote here! Just today, my sister and I were having this discussion in the car about passing judgement among believers, etc. So, if I may....I would like your permission to post this blog of yours on my facebook notes?? You made a very powerful point and I appreciate the part of Scriptures that you highlighted in support of your "thoughts"...

Much love to ya!
